1. On-Device Data Storage

Odyssey is built so you own your data:

• All your logged movies, TV series, episode progress, ratings, reviews, and custom lists stay saved directly on your phone.
• We do not sell your personal viewing habits or personal information to anyone.
• Because your library is saved on your device, uninstalling the app without creating a backup will remove your locally saved data on that phone.

2. Data We Collect

To keep Odyssey fast, reliable, and stable across different Android devices, the app uses Google/Firebase services for limited diagnostic and performance insights:

• Crash & Error Diagnostics (Crash Reporting): If the app encounters an unexpected error or crash, an anonymous diagnostic report is recorded. These reports contain device technical details (such as your phone model, Android version, and error logs) to help us pinpoint and fix bugs quickly. They do not contain personal details, email addresses, or watchlist contents. You can disable crash reporting at any time in app settings.
• Anonymous Usage Insights: We collect aggregate, anonymous statistics about how the app is used (such as screen views, general interactions like tracking a show or switching a theme, and app performance metrics). This helps us understand what features people enjoy and identify areas to improve responsiveness. This information is not linked to your personal identity and is never sold. You can disable analytics at any time in app settings.
• Data Security: All diagnostic and analytics data is transmitted securely over encrypted connections (HTTPS).

3. Advertising

To support ongoing development, Odyssey may display banner ads:

• Google AdMob: We partner with Google AdMob to deliver ads. AdMob may collect basic device identifiers, general location (such as country or city), and ad interaction information to serve relevant ads.
• Privacy Choices: Where required by applicable laws, you will be presented with a consent form to select your advertising choices.

4. Optional Google Drive Backups

If you choose to use the cloud backup feature in settings:

• You will sign in with your Google account.
• Odyssey saves your backup file into a private, hidden folder inside your Google Drive. The app only accesses its own backup file and cannot see or access your personal files, photos, or documents.
• We do not store your Google credentials or your backup files on our own servers.
• You can disconnect this feature or delete your cloud backup anytime in app settings.

5. Movie Information & Streaming Guides

To show you movie posters, plot summaries, cast lists, and where titles are available to stream:

• Odyssey connects to public movie and streaming databases (The Movie Database [TMDB] and JustWatch).
• These lookups only retrieve public show information. Your personal watch history is not shared.

6. Your Choices and Controls

You have full control over your privacy and data inside Odyssey:

• Usage Analytics: You can turn anonymous usage data collection on or off at any time under Settings → Privacy → Usage Analytics.
• Crash Reporting: You can turn crash diagnostic reports on or off at any time under Settings → Privacy → Crash Reporting.
• Export Your Data: You can save a backup file of your entire library under Settings → Account & Data → Local Backups & Restore.
• Erase Your Data: You can permanently clear all saved data in app settings under Settings → Account & Data → Local Backups & Restore → Clear All Watchlist Data, or through your phone's Android application settings.
